The FDCD held a workshop at the Library of Alexandria, Alexandria , Egypt on July 10-13, 2004 entitled 'Media in Situations of Conflict', and brought together 25 young media practitioners from Egypt , Lebanon and Jordan.

The focus of the workshop was to share the experiences among reporters and journalists who cover (have covered) situations of conflict in the region and outside, and to share lessons learned from these experiences. FDCD hopes to hold this workshop annually. Papers presented at the workshop will soon be available in the form of a booklet in Arabic.
