On May 1st-5th the Forum for Development, Culture and Dialogue completed the Danish-Arab dialogue seminar, that is the first part of the project “I See Myself Through You – filming the process of cross-cultural understanding and communication.” During the seminar 30 youth leaders from Denmark and the Middle East met in order to present their perceptions, concerns and views on the cartoon controversy and to engage in dialogue with the goal of a better and deeper understanding of the views of the religious and cultural ‘other’. By discussing issues related to religion, politics, and Muslim-Christian relations the workshop focused on the practical skills of communication and understanding. This way the youth were trained in the process of dialogue through lectures and exercises.
As the participating youth were more than engaged in and open to dialogue, the outcome of the seminar was clear. Overall the participants expressed that the seminar provided them with useful skills for them to apply in their future organizational work in their own communities.

During the next months the editing will take place and the documentary film should be ready to be screened in the beginning of August.
