The FDCD and the Permanent Peace Movement are celebrating the International Day of Peace on September 21, 2004 at UNESCO, Beirut, Lebanon, with a seminar on 'The Right to Peace'. Under this theme, the seminar will discuss issues of human security, peaceful resolution of conflicts, small arms control, armed conflict, and will also visit the sculpture of 'The Hope for Peace'. Speakers include representatives of both organizations, the United Nations Representative in Lebanon, the Ministry of Culture, as well as university professors, NGO representatives and others. A Peace-Day festival for children and adults will precede the seminar, and will take place at the Yasouiyya Garden in Achrafiyyeh on Sunday, September 19, 2004.
