EFT, Trauma Healing Project
Location: Lebanon
Objectives:
This project aims to train trainers at an advanced and professional level. Following FDCD's project on training social workers on detecting and dealing with trauma, FDCD has identified a need to provide professionals with specific methods of trauma healing. Through this training, FDCD will extend the circle of professionals familiar with trauma healing concepts and in doing so increase the number of indirect beneficiaries in the country. Although Lebanon is a post-crisis zone, few NGOs are currently working in the field of trauma healing. The project is therefore designed to meet a very specific need in society.
Project Summary:
This project will bring together 23 trainers from 23 different NGOs and institutions in Lebanon, Syria and Jordan for a 3 day workshop. They will be introduced to tools in order to idenify trauma and break the cycle of violence. It will also allow them to become trainers in this field and share everything they were trained on in the NGOs and institutions they belong to.
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
Understand and explain the foundational principles of EFT
Understand EFT in the context of other trauma healing approaches and theories
Effectively use EFT with individuals and groups
Use EFT as a self-care tool
Teach the basic EFT process to others
Reflect on the relevance of EFT for peacebuilding in communities and societies
Follow up:
Follow up of the training is vital for this project. It will be done on a regular basis with the participants by conducting trainings in the region of Lebanon. Also, in the medium to long term, trainers’ skills will be available to help individuals in need.
